StumbleUpon Uncover the confusion Final Chapter
Today we are going to cover the steps involved to become what I like to call a Power Stumbler! But first let’s summarize from yesterday:
- We want to submit our own article to stumble.
- We also want to make stumbling part of our daily routine.
- We want to stumble about 10-15 articles a day, minimum.
Become a Power Stumbler/User
Everything you do as a Stumbler will affect your user profile. The amount of stumbled articles you continue to build, the amount of friends you have, the amount of fans you have. So what do you do to become a power Stumbler?
- Get as many friends as possible, you are limited to 200.
- Make sure to do as many reviews as you can when stumbling
- Join groups in the StumbleUpon Communtiy
Let’s cover each one of the above steps in detail.
Get Friends
Get as many friends as possible, just remember you are limited to 200. Some techniques of getting friends is to first invite folks from your current contact list, mypsace, facebook, etc. Invite them as friends to StumbleUpon and tell them how it works and how much you would appreciate their help. After they have signed up for StumbleUpon, ask them to vote for your articles via emails.
Another technique is to find folks in your area by clicking on the people of StumbleUpon. Just add folks as friends. Go to their sites and stumble some of their aricles. You also want to add some “top stumblers” to your friends list. You can find them via the people tab or by typing in Top Stumblers in the search bar of StumbleUpon.
Do Reviews of articles you have submitted.
If you aren’t the one who discovers an article, make sure you always go back to your profile page and write reviews of the articles that you have stumbled. This helps your profile to becom more valuable to StumbleUpon and therefore your votes will count as more. This will also make you more popular with other Stumblers.
Join StumbleUpon Groups and participate.
StumbleUpon has many different groups in which you can join. Find the ones that you have interest in. what I mean by this is, don’t just join ones for your site. But also others that you have an interest or hobby in.
You can type your interest in the search bar to find groups. For instance you can type in User groups and a list of them will appear in a list form.
Lastly, you will want to network with other stumblers. It is not against StumbleUpon TOS to network with other stumbers using your friends and fans list to solicit stumbles.
That’s why it is so important to gain as many friends and fans as well as join as many groups you can in order to become know in your circle of influence. This will help you to get thousand of users day after day.
Today’s exercise
- Give Arsenal Marketing a little Stumble Love by stumbling this article, the Final chapter.
- Go through the comments for part one, part two and final chapter and add the folks who left comments as friends.
- After adding them as friends give everyone of them some stumble love.
Conclusion
As you repeat the above steps for all of your current friends and potential Friends and fans you will continue to gain traffic on a regular basis. There are a lot of folks who talk bad about StumbleUpon because the traffic is not that targeted. It’s not this and not that. I really get tired of folks talking bad about a good thing. Here’s my thinking or rebuttal to all those haters out there. The more traffic you get to your site, the better chance that you will gain readership.
So as I have previously mentioned, make stumble part of your daily routine and you WILL get more traffic, gain more readership, thus becoming more successful.
If you have found this article to be helpful please show some Stumble Love

“Did you post your stumble profile on your blog?”
What do you mean? Ask people to add me as friend on my blog?
October 4th, 2007 at 4:08 pm
Sean,
You can either leave your profile here as a comment or on your blog. But yes, I have asked that everyone add all commentators as a friend on Stumble as well as to stumble a few articles. This will help everyone to jump start their traffic, friends and networking on Stumble.

Great Information..I have a Stumble Upon page as well. Honestly,I don’t know what the heck I’m doing on that site. I love to surf so, when I find an interesting website or blog, I Stumble it, and usually, I get a popup, that asks me to review the site…I love to do this, however, ..I’m wondering, all this time that I spend reviewing these sites, do I get any thing out of this at all…then, I say to myself, well, I guess, I can use it as experience for an online reviewer job or something similar…My question, and what I think I can do …Is stumble my own sites…which I am working on…or stumble affiliate sites that I plan to sign up to….I hope this will be prosperous for me…please let me know, if there are other ways to benefit from reviewing, or if the ways that I said are not allowed….Keep up the good work…you can bet that I will be reading your blog..on my daily surfs……Barbie Ann

Here’s a coupleof things you can do. For every review screeen you get, email the owner of the blog and ask them to join stumble if they haven’t already and to add you as a friend. Then you al can exchange some stumble love. THis is a great way to build a network of friends and fans on Stumble. $ Another thing you may want to do is actually Ping your stumble page, as well as claim it on technorati.
I hope that helps!

Yes, your feedback did help somewhat, thank you very much for responding so quickly. I’m saying somewhat, because, I do understand the explanation about emailing the owner of the website or blog that I stumble upon, however, I hate to admit this but, I don’t understand what you mean by ping my stumble page and claim it on technorati. I know that you are busy, so I will try to find out what you mean by doing a search on both pinging and technorati. And, I really appreciate what ever help you can give me. I am working on some blogs now, and I will also, stumble your site, and of course, I would love a stumble in return…that’s the beauty of networking…and I love it…….yours in fitness, health and cyberspace….Sultrybarbieann

Sultrybarbieann,
WHat I mean by pinging your stumble page is this. login to your stumble accout. about half way down on the right hand side you will see sultrybaqbieann rss. You will have two fo them, you want to ping them both. So click on one of them. COpy the url. Then open a new window and go to pingomatic.com. For blgo name just typein your name then for url and rss feed past the copied url into those fields. CLick subit your are done. DO this about two time a week.

You have listed many factors, but the most important it is STUMBLE GOOD(read popular) articles =)) if yes, your account will be strong and you will have very much fans!
October 25th, 2007 at 9:29 am
If you post article to SU, do not forget to mail its friends by internal Stumble Upon mail. maybe you will have few points (likes) and reviews. Usually, if you have 10-15 likes or 3-4 reviews in first hour - you it top!
